David Xanatos wants it all, power, money and immortality. In short, he wants the world. And he's ruthless enough that he might just get it. It's unclear exactly how he found out about the Gargoyles and their curse, though Demona has claimed she told him. His bringing the gargoyles to Mahattan had just been a ploy to gain some rather useful pawns. David Xanatos fears nothing, or so he claims. In truth most of his schemes center around him finding a way to live forever, he seems to have a phobia about growing old and weak. He has at various times tried to concoct an immortality potion (using Hudson as both an ingredient AND guinia pig), let Demona cast a spell to steal a minute of life from anyone seeing and hearing a special broadcast, and he tried to get the god Anubis to grant him immortality. All of his plans have been thwarted by the Gargoyles. Despite this he has only once tried to out and out destroy them, right after he created his "replacements" the Steel Clan robots. After the Steel Clan's defeat he seemed to take the stance of keeping them around just in case they may prove useful. Which they have numerous times, they saved his then fiancee Fox's life and another time his son even though they neither liked or trusted Xanatos himself.
