A Quick Little Overview: Serena a school girl, a bit of a crybaby and more than a little clumsy, finds a talking cat named Luna. Luna tells Serena that she's destined to be the sailor suited fighter Sailor Moon. Charged with protecting the universe from evil, Sailor Moon and her Sailor Scouts fight for freedom, justice, and cute boyfriends.

What's to Love: This series is fun. For the most part light-hearted, there are a few deeper moments that really tug on the old heart strings. The characters are all pretty endearing and well rounded. The whole series in incredibly infectious, many people who don't like it at first find it growing on them. The on again off again romance between Serena and Darien can completely capture you. The artwork is not great, though the transformations and special attacks are very pretty. The overlaying story arches, i.e. the defeating of the Villian of the Season, are more interesting than you'd think at first. The villians have there own problems and you feel for them even when they're destroyed.

What's to Hate: Some of the vocal characterizations can be a little grating (Why does Molly have a Brooklyn accent and Amy an English accent?). As previously stated, the animation varies, some parts are very good, some parts are very bad. Beyond that the stories can be a bit standard. Big monster threatens a person, place or thing (on the orders of the Villian of the Moment). Sailor scouts show up, transform, attack with thier special moves, nearly get defeated, but finally kick butt, end of episode. The romance can also get a bit, well, sticky sweet. For the most part it's not to heavy, but sometimes it can nearly put you in a diabetic coma.

What's the Final Say: While I thoroughly enjoy this anime, and it has a LOT of fans world wide, I'm not going to pretend it has no faults. But it's got all those fans for a reason, like I said this anime can really grow on you.
