Sailor Mars Sailor Mars is a scout of passions and determination, this scout stands long after others have fallen. She is also very dedicated to her beliefs and opinions. Always determined to have her own way this scout can be very argumentive. This causes a lot of strife between Sailor Moon, the group's reluctant leader, and Sailor Mars, who feels she would be a better leader. (At least at first) But as much as she might argue, Sailor Mars is always there when needed. In fact, Sailor Mars is the strong shoulder for Sailor Moon to lean on in her most dire moments.

Sailor Mars has much more discipline than the other scouts, relishing her role as a Scout. Sailor Mars has a lot of talents and abilities that she gain before becoming Sailor Mars. As her normal self, Raye Hino, she can tell fortunes by reading fire, sense evil, and use her fire scrolls to paralyze evil. Raye learned this at her Granpa's Temple, where she lives and works. Raye is training to be a priest like her grandfather (specifically an exorcist). Raye works really hard, keeping the temple clean, doing the laundry and selling charms. She takes a karate class too which she is very good at. She also is very popular at her school, often chosen for important jobs. She organized her school festival telling everyone what to do, and writing all the music for it. But even being popular doesn't save Raye from feeling lonely and isolated. Being so busy, she doesn't have time for close friendships. And a lot of the people who chose her do do things like the school festival are so awe-struck that they're more annoances than friends. Many of her fellow students fear her strange psycic abilities, as well. Even though she fights with Serena and puts her down, Raye appreciates that she treats her like everyone else. Raye dated Darien for a while, before ther scouts fully remebered who they were and that Serena and Darien were destined for each other. Since then Raye hasn't had a boyfriend, though she does have an admirer. Chad, a burnt out singer, showed up at her temple one day, hoping that training there would cure him of his stage fright. He was instantly smitten with the dynamic Raye, and doesn't even seem to mind her bullying.

Though poweful on her own, as a Sailor Scout she is even more so. Her powers are as firey and bright as her namesake planet. Mars Power Raye says this to transform into Sailor Mars. Mars Fire Ignite Raye says this to create a burst of fire. This fire can then be controlled, as a fire stream (standard attack) or it can be used to supplement the attack of other items (specifically, Moon's Tiara). Anti-evil Sign This item resembles a small scroll. If it is attached to an enemy, the enemy becomes paralyzed, making them more vunerable to attack, she can use this even if she hasn't transformed. Mars Star Power Raye says this to transform into Sailor Mars. Mars Firestorm Flash Raye says this to activate a continuous stream of fire, which she can direct to any opponent. Mars Firebird Strike Raye says this to create a blast of flame shaped in the form of a firebird. This firebird can then fly towards its intended target. Mars Celestial Fire Surround Raye says this to launch several rings of fire that surround the enemy.
