Mousse wants desperatly to be Shampoos one and only, dispite the fact that Shampoo professes to hate him and Cologne doesn't think he is a suitable suitor for her grand-daughter. Even though Mousse is comically blind (he often mistakes other people, telephone poles, ect. for Shampoo) he is a formidable foe. Master of the Hidden Weapon Technique, Mousse is liable pull anything and everything out of his billowy sleeves and robes. Most often he tangles his foes with miles of chain or something similar shooting out of his sleeves. (He can even do this while wearing short sleeves and shorts!) After following Shampoo to Japan in order to defeat her so that he can marry her, Mousse is told by Cologne that Ranma has already won the honour of being Shampoo's fiancee. Mousse then challenges Ranma to a man-to-man fight. Ranma being trapped by Cologne's Full-Bodied-Cat-Tounge touch in his girl-form, humiliates Mousse by defeating him in what he claims is a "girl disguise".
Mousse returns to China and seeks training in Jusenkyou where he walks into the Spring of Drowned Duckling, Yaazuniichuan, possibly the only place in the world where a duck can drown. Now cursed to turn into a duck whenever splashed with cold water. He returns to Japan with water from Yaazuniichuan to curse Ranma with. After failing that he becomes a virtual slave in the Cat Cafe working for Shampoo's Great-grandmother and plotting ways to do away with Ranma and gain Shampoo for himself.
