(the plot)
Ranma 1/2 is the continuing story of Ranma Saotome and Akane Tendo two people arranged by their fathers to wed so they might carry on the Anything Goes School of Martial Arts (also translated as Indiscriminate Grappeling). Both Ranma and Akane profess to hate the other, though their actions toward one another say otherwise. To complicate things even further, Ranma and his father are both under a curse after falling into Jusenkyo springs. When splashed with cold water Ranma becomes a buxom, cute girl and Genma, his father, becomes a giant panda bear. A splash of hot water and everything is returned to normal until the next splash of water. Add in the fact that Akane and Ranma seem to aquire other fiancees as easily as breathing, these fiancees tend to be masters of obscure, bizarre martial art techniques, and many have curses similar to Ranma's and you've got one hilarious romantic comedy.
