After escaping Happosai's traning with his friend Genma Saotome, Soun and Genma decided that one day their children would wed to carry on the Anything-Goes Martial Arts School. Soun was left to the raising of his three daughters after his wife's passing. While he obviously cares very much for his daughters, he isn't very smart and he is VERY emotional, which isn't the best formula for descion making. Thus when another odd, strange or bizarre happenings happens upon the Tendo Dojo Soun usually reacts by either blowing up or, more commonly, bursting into tears. Along with Genma, Soun is constantly trying to get Akane and Ranma to get together and is often displeased with the fact that Ranma seems to gain a new fiancees on a daily basis.
