The Tick, the man, the mystery....weird, blue avenger of crime the Tick is a good-hearted menace to himself and others. The Tick is completly obssessed with being a by the book superhero, problem is that no one seems to know the book but him. The Tick loves the paraphinalia that goes along with the job of being a superhero, often trying Arthur's patience (not to mention his bank account) by buying goofy gadjets that don't work. His past is a mystery, in the cartoon the Tick just appeared at the super-hero trials and won the City as his turf. In the comic book the Tick escaped from an insane asylum so that he could dance across the rooftops as the City's protector. In both cases nothing is known about the Tick before he became "the Tick". According to the back of The Tick: The Naked City the Tick is divorced, but nothing else is know of his past. Other than the fact that at various times in his past he thought he was ment to be the Emperor of Greenland or he was ment to build a Polynesian Longship in his garage. He learned the error of his ways. |
