Akane Tendo is the youngest daughter of Soun Tendo. She is a master martial artist and hadn't until recently been defeated. Akane has long been pursed by the guys at her high school, especially after upperclassman Tatewaki Kuno, one of her main suitors, declared that no-one may date her without defeating her in combat. This forced her to have to literally fight off an army of suitors every morning before class before taking on Kuno himself. Thus grew her hatred of boys. Akane was very upset of course when it was decided that she would be the fiancee of Ranma.
While claiming to hate Ranma and often calling him a pervert and a jerk, Akane gets very jealous if one of this other fiancees tries to make a move on him, or if she thinks he's making a move on them. And when Akane gets jealous, she gets violent usually resulting in either her getting into a fight or Ranma getting hurt.
Akane is often envious of her older sister Kasumi's proficiency at homemaking skills such as cooking and arts and crafts. Her own attempts at such domestic tasks are nothing short of terrifying.
